United Planet's global network of leaders and volunteers fosters cross-cultural understanding and addresses shared challenges to unite the world in a community beyond borders. United Planet offers many different ways to volunteer, both internationally and with your local community.

Volunteer Abroad

United Planet’s Volunteer Abroad Quest program provides an incredibly fulfilling volunteer opportunity for volunteers and valuable support for international communities through local partnerships and:

• Language immersion
• Cultural activities
• Learning excursions

Volunteers of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds are invited to join 1-52 week volunteer abroad programs in over 40 countries worldwide in:

• Africa
• Latin America
• Asia

• Middle East
• Europe

Volunteer in your local community

No matter where you live in the world, become a leader in your community and bring United Planet's mission to your school, work place, or community. Take part in this unique volunteer opportunity by starting a United Planet Ambassador Club today!

United Planet Ambassador Club members work together to foster cross-cultural understanding and address shared global challenges to unite the world in a community beyond borders through a range of club activities, including:

• Holding international parties, festivals, and fun cultural events such as slide shows, international movie nights, music presentations, poetry readings, international cook-offs or bake sales, and other performances.
• Presenting lectures and guest speakers to discuss cultural and global issues.
• Volunteering abroad and within the local community.
• Educating the local youth about the world, visiting schools and giving Cultural Awareness Presentations.
• Hosting cultural celebrations - Chinese New Year celebrations, United Planet Global Kitchen, international music nights, foreign film debuts, etc.

There are many benefits for United Planet Ambassador Clubs, including:

• Opportunities for communication and cultural exchange with people from all over the world.
• Privileges of the United Planet Ambassadors card, including discounts.
• Special affiliate club webpage.
• Invitations to participate in United Planet international volunteer programs, events and activities.

United Planet's Cultural Awareness Project (CAP) is another unique way of engaging your community in cross cultural understanding:

“By listening to community members that have firsthand experience with different cultures, we can better understand what's happening in other places around the world.  It opens our hearts to other people. The CAP program works because it confronts prejudice that emerges when we are faced with the unfamiliar. Once we have the chance to become more familiar with our differences, that prejudice will change into understanding. And understanding will ultimately lead to peace and harmony.”

• United Planet's Cultural Awareness Project is a program dedicated to spreading cross-cultural awareness through presentations about cultures and global issues.
• A CAP presentation can involve storytelling, musical performances, lectures, discussions and more.
• United Planet works with schools, communities, nonprofit groups, and companies to set up Cultural Awareness Projects.
• You can volunteer to do insightful presentations for audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
• Presentations are local so you can have one in your hometown or anywhere in the world you may be.

Volunteer at the United Planet Office

We are always looking for dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers in the United Planet office in Boston, Massachusetts. These are not your ordinary volunteer positions! You will play an integral role in the running of the organization while gaining experience and skills that you would not otherwise find in another opportunity!
