Group Volunteer Opportunities in the USA

United Planet works with self-formed groups to take part in rewarding community service projects in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Boston is one of the most historic cities in the US and was the location of many crucial events to spark the American War of Independence. It is also a thriving center for business, culture and sports!

Ongoing Opportunities

Self-formed groups can volunteer in Boston throughout the year. This is truly a great opportunity for your group to make a difference in a community in the US, immerse in another culture, explore a new part of the world and learn new things about each other! Volunteers can work at food banks, homeless shelters and other community projects while exploring the city of Boston and around.

Boston 2010 Summer Group Quest!

Are you interested in volunteering in the USA but don't have a group to come with? Join other individuals from around the world for two weeks in July 2010! This is an exciting chance to join others to take part in community service work in Boston while experiencing US culture and learning about US history. Program Cost and Dates

United Planet works closely with all groups to design an itinerary that suits their needs and requirements. Start dates and the length of our Quests are flexible and can be scheduled according to group preferences. The cost per volunteer is dependent upon the location of the project and any additional needs or activities that are requested by the group.

This fee includes the following:

Pre-departure training from the United Planet Quest Team Full orientation upon arrival by United Planet staff members Full Coordination on the ground by United Planet staff members Travel Insurance Round trip airport transfers Local public transportation Accommodations/Meals   Excursions Cultural activities Optional excursions and activities as requested

The United Planet team will work closely with you both before your departure and during your stay to provide a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience for your group. 

Visas
United Planet sends volunteers from many countries around the world. Obtaining a Visa to enter the United States is therefore the responsibility of the volunteer, however, United Planet recommends you apply and enter on either a Tourist Visa or a B1 Visa. Please contact the nearest US Embassy or Consulate in your home country or your government web site for information on gaining visas for the United States. If you need a letter from United Planet to verify your participation in our program, please e-mail us with this request and we will be happy to provide one.

Health Issues and Vaccinations
The United States requires or suggests that volunteers from certain countries have specific vaccinations before arrival in the US. Please consult your country's government web site for more information regarding these stipulations. It is also recommended that you visit your nearest travel clinic prior to departure.

Living and volunteering in the USA, often in conditions you are not used to, can take a toll on the body and mind.  In addition to the information that is provided in your pre-departure package, please research how to stay healthy in the US. It could make all the difference!
