Group Volunteer Opportunities in the USA

United Planet works with self-formed groups to take part in rewarding community service projects in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Boston is one of the most historic cities in the US and was the location of many crucial events that sparked the American War of Independence. It is also a thriving center for business, culture and sports!

Self-formed groups can volunteer in Boston throughout the year. This is truly a great opportunity for your group to make a difference in a community, immerse in another culture, explore a new part of the world and learn new things about each other! Volunteers can work at food banks, homeless shelters and other community projects while exploring the city of Boston and environs.

United Planet works closely with groups to design an itinerary that suits their needs and requirements. Start dates and the length of our Quests are flexible and can be scheduled according to group preferences. The cost per volunteer is dependent upon the location of the project and any additional needs or activities that are requested.

Individual Volunteer Opportunities in the USA

Individuals from around the world are welcome to join the United Planet USA Quest in Boston, Massachusetts. Boston is one of the most historic cities in the USA and was the location of many crucial events to lay the foundation of this incredible country.

Community service projects vary depending on the time of year and volunteer interest, but include such places as food banks, teen empowerment programs, homeless shelters and others. If learning English is a goal, add on extra hours of English classes for a more intensive learning experience. All volunteers stay with host families, providing a more intimate view of life in the USA.

Program Cost for Individuals in USD

• 2 weeks - $2,165
  
• 3 weeks - $2,450
  
• 4 weeks - $2,775
  

Add 20 hours of English classes per week for an additional $395 per week.

• Pre-departure training from the United Planet Quest Team

Visas
United Planet sends volunteers from many countries around the world. Obtaining a Visa to enter the United States is therefore the responsibility of the volunteer; United Planet recommends you apply and enter on either a Tourist Visa or a B1 Visa. Please contact the nearest US Embassy or Consulate in your home country or your government web site for information on gaining visas for the United States.

Health Issues and Vaccinations
The United States requires or suggests that volunteers from certain countries have specific vaccinations before arrival in the US. Please consult your country's government web site for more information regarding these stipulations. It is also recommended that you visit your nearest travel clinic prior to departure.

Living and volunteering in the USA, often in conditions you are not used to, can take a toll on the body and mind.  In addition to the information that is provided in your pre-departure package, please research how to stay healthy in the US. It could make all the difference!
