Cambodia Program Details

Accommodation and Food

During your Cambodia Quest, you will stay in a guest house in Siem Reap. You will have a room with air-conditioning, wireless internet service and other basic amenities. The guest house serves only breakfast so volunteers will have plenty of opportunities to explore the local restaurants and cafes that offer you a wide variety of food from pizza to Khmer cuisine. Daily lunch and dinner are covered by volunteers.

Insurance, Health and Safety

United Planet provides emergency medical insurance for all of its Short Term volunteers. You receive policy information by email prior to departure, and also the emergency number to call if you are treated for any medical issues.  Insurance also covers baggage loss up to $500 and trip interruption due to extraordinary circumstances.* Upon sign up you will also receive a full guide to health and safety in your country. We recommend booking a doctor’s appointment a few months out to update your vaccinations, etc. or visiting a travel health clinic. Your doctor can recommend the appropriate vaccinations and travel medicine. Please see the Health and Safety page for more information.

Transportation and Flights

Volunteers must arrive in Siem Reap by bus or by plane to the Siem Reap Angkor International Airport. A United Planet representative will meet you at the airport and ensure that you arrive safely to the guesthouse. You will take a tuk tuk or rent a bicycle to/from your projects. Local transportations are covered by volunteers.
