Traveling alone can be lonely -- but when you're on a Volunteer Abroad Program, you become part of a family, and a community, as soon as you arrive.

The thought of volunteering abroad alone can be daunting -- but not to worry. Your days will quickly be full of food, family, and camaraderie. United Planet volunteers often travel as individuals, but soon find themselves surrounded by a new family and friends! Staying with host families is a central part of many volunteers' experience, and often the part they end up enjoying the most. Also, the friends and colleagues our volunteers make at their work projects often remain friends for life.
Volunteering solo gives you the chance to push yourself outside of your comfort zone and learn how independent you can be. You will gain life skills, experience amazing adventures, and explore a new culture and country intimately.
Solo volunteers have the freedom to participate in any Short-term Quests (1-12 weeks) or Long-term Quests (6 months or 1 year) in over 40 countries. |

Call one of our friendly regional Quest coordinators today. We will walk you step-by-step through the application process and answer any questions you may have.
Step 1: Choose your Quest. Contact us at any time for help! We'd love to talk to you. Email or call 1-800-292-2316.
Step 2: Enroll online. Please fill in the enrollment form. Then reserve your spot with a deposit (which will be credited toward your program fee).
Step 3: Meet your Quest coordinator and iron out the details. Once you've applied, someone from the United Planet Team will contact you, and arrange a time to talk about your Quest of interest. THANKS!
