United Planet works hard to make our prices as reasonable as possible, while maintaining our personalized service and standards of excellence. Our fees reflect unparalleled support for the volunteer, and real service to sustainable projects in the community.
Please note that United Planet is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in the United States. All fees associated with your Volunteer Abroad Quest are tax-deductible for U.S. citizens; this includes the Program Fee, and may include your airfare as well.
The fee structure has 2 tiers, and depends on program country.

Deadlines for Enrolling in Programs Starting August 2012
- Friday March 23, 2012 - Early bird enrollment deadline
- Friday May 18, 2012 - Regular enrollment deadline
- Friday June 1, 2012 - Late enrollment deadline
- $500 deposit needed upon acceptance - to ensure participation in host country
- Friday June 15, 2012 - 50% of total fee due
- Friday July 13, 2012 - Remainder of fee due
* Please note late applications are NOT accepted for the following countries: Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom
Program Fees Include:
- Extensive pre-departure preparation including a training weekend with UP staff
- Food & lodging in your host country (host family or shared residence)
- Airport transfers
- Emergency medical insurance
- In-country orientation, language training, mid-year camp (for 1 year volunteers only), and final camp
- On-going support and supervision
- Monthly stipend for incidental expenses
Program Fees Do Not Include:
- Visa processing charges (volunteers are responsible for aquiring the necessary Visa)
- International airfare (volunteers are responsible for coordinating travel itineraries with expected program start dates)
- Any required vaccinations or immunizations
- Travel to the pre-departure training site
United Planet Long-term Quest Program
- Choose your country.
- Choose 6 months or 1 year
- Choose your start date: January or August.(6 month programs run January-July or August-February; 1 year programs run January-January or August-August.)

If you are participating in a long-term Quest and refer someone who participates in a Short-or Long-term Quest, you will receive 5% off your total program fee
- Participate in 2 Long-term Quests (or a Short-term Quest followed by a Long-term Quest) and receive 5% off of your second Quest.
