China Summer Teaching Program
Group Quest for Ages 16 and Up (No Upper Limit)
Three Weeks: July 27 - August 22, 2012
Program Fee: $2495

While staying in a schoolhouse, teach English and environmental studies to local Chinese students (particularly girls). On regular days of rest, visit the students' families, explore nearby towns, go hiking, shop at local markets. End with a graduation ceremony and trip back to Huaihua, Beijing and home.

Two Weeks: July 7-July 21, 2012
Ages: 16-18 | Group Limit: 8
Program Fee: $1665
Students will have the opportunity to see two sides of Ecuador: the cloud forest and the city of Quito. For one week, volunteers will work and live together in an environmental lodge; the other week they will be at an educational center and temporary housing for street children. Volunteers can tutor, organize games with the children, and will also work on a group project to be determined by the needs of the center (such as painting or fixing furniture). In Quito volunteers will live 2-3 volunteers together with host families.
This is a unique opportunity for volunteers to travel to Ecuador in a small group with other United Planet volunteers. No Spanish is required -- but volunteers must be English native speakers or have fluent English.

This is a unique opportunity for volunteers to travel to Chile in a small group with other United Planet volunteers, as well as to meet Chilean students. No Spanish is required -- but volunteers must be English native speakers or have fluent English.

As the world gets smaller with each advance in telecommunications, tourism in its traditional sense starts to feel empty of meaning. Volunteering is one way to travel responsibly. Immersing oneself in a culture by living with a host family and working at local community centers can be both amazing and challenging at the same time.
If this is the kind of meaningful experience you are searching for, then we encourage you to contact us for more information. |
