The United Planet Ambassador Club of Togo

Togo Club

The United Planet Ambassador Club of Togo was officially launched in Togo on May 19, 2008, consisting of approximately 105 members. They all work together for the main purpose of promoting peace and cultural understanding among people of all ages and nationalities, through various cultural and traditional exchanges and initiatives.

Additionally, they promote rural development to ultimately assist with the implementation of development projects within their community, such as running water, libraries, and sanitary toilets.


Club Activities

They work actively within their community and have launched various campaigns for the benefit of others, mostly for the local youth. Some of their most recent activities include:

  • The launch of a program entitiled "Meals of Diversity" which was designed to promote cultural understanding among students.
  • In July 2009, they were able to organize a six day excursion for approximately 100 students to the waterfall of Kpimé in Kloto region, Agou peak, Lake Togo and traditional houses called Tata somba on koutamakou site which UNESCO had declared as world patrimony. The children were able to meet other students from other parts of the country and learn about their cultures, traditional dances, culinary arts, and could enjoy their stories.
  • In September 2009, they had organized a hand washing campaign in various schools to fight against the cholera epidemic which is prevailing is some areas of the town, to help the authorities fight against this disease. They held the campaign in the first weeks of schools opening to sensitize the students on a means to avoid the disease.  

Location of the Club

Since its inception, United Planet Ambassador Club of Togo has been hosted by Togo Sans Ethnics, an organization that promotes peace and fights ethnic, racial and religious discrimination, while also promoting democracy and citizen participation. At present, United Planet Ambassador Club of Togo is based in the Adidogomé community, a community of almost 3,000 people.

Located in West Africa, Togo is a country that shares its borders with Ghana, Burkina Faso and Benin. The country is made up of 45 ethnic groups with a multitude of cultural values. With a population of about 6,000,000 inhabitants, the country got its independence on April 27, 1960. The first president was M. Sylvanus Olympio who was assassinated three years later by a coup. Today, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe is the head of state.

The Executive Committee

The Executive Committee: President M.Kokou Bossou, Vice President Miss Afissetou Pehedewe, Secretary Treasurer M.Karim Ayouba, Adviser M.  Kokouvi Koudite, Volunteer Coordinator M. Edem Adovon, Public Relations Coordinator and M.Ekoué Ayite as the Event Coordinator.

  1. Fill out the United Planet Ambassador Club online Application or fill out the United Planet Affiliate Ambassador Club online application.
  2. The Ambassador Program Manager will contact you once we review your application.
  3. If your application is accepted, you will receive a packet to start your Ambassador Club or Affiliate Ambassador Club.
