Volunteer Abroad in Turkey with United Planet Turkey Quest

Turkey Details

Travel:
You will fly into Atatürk Airport (Istanbul) where you will be met by Elif Tuay, United Planet's In Country Coordinator. You will then be transported to your host family. The next day, after the orientation, you will meet with the host organization and begin your volunteer work.

Accommodations:
Host families are located are on either the Asian or European side of Istanbul depending on your project site. Families are located in a central area so that you will have access to an interesting neighborhood and prime location. Host families give you the chance to immerse in the culture and provide you with 2 delicious meals a day. Turkey is known for its hospitality so you will feel at home with your host family!

Food:
Your meals will either be at the volunteer accommodation or at the project site.

Weather:
Turkish summers are warm and long but the winters can be especially harsh, sometimes reaching temperatures as low as -15 degrees centigrade.

Cultural activities:
Volunteers will take Turkish lessons and participate in other exciting cultural activities (e.g. dance lessons, painting, etc.).

Special Family Rates:
-1st parent:full quest fee
-2nd parent: 10% off of 1 full quest fee
-children under 12: 50% off the full quest fee

-children 12 and over: 10% off the full quest fee
-couples : receive 10% off of 1 full quest fee

*Evaluation Refund: Your feedback is very important to us! Upon receiving your on-line evaluation within one month of the completion of your Quest, you will be refunded $50. You also have the option to support United Planet's Country Funds which support program development and development projects in the communities where our volunteers work. Instead of receiving your $50 refund, you may choose to donate that $50 to the Country Fund where you participated in your Quest. Family Evaluation Refund: UP will only refundone survey per family.
