Ecuador Details

Housing You will be staying with a family in Quito where you will receive a private room and 3 meals a day. The families are always very friendly and excited to teach you about the culture of Ecuador!
Cultural Activities You will participate in a series of cultural activities.They will be activities like learning Spanish, cooking a typical Ecuadorian meal or salsa dancing lessons.

Included in the Program Fee:

• Cultural activities: Salsa lessons and Ecuadorian cooking lessons
• 8 hr per week of private Spanish lessons
• Trip to an indigenous market (Otavalo -2nd week)
• Trip to Hot Springs Town (Baños -4th week)
• Trip to Hot Springs (Papallacta-6th week)
• Trip to the Cloud Forest (Mindo - 8th week)
• Trip to Teleferico and Trekking to Pichincha Mountain (10th week)

Optional Spanish Language Immersion Course

Volunteers are able to include a one or two week Spanish Language course at the beginning of their Quest. Instead of starting work at their assigned project, volunteers spend the first one or two weeks studying Spanish in a language school in Quito. Volunteers recieve 30 hours of group lessons, or 20 hours of individual lessons (depending on Spanish level) per week. There is an additional charge for the Spanish Language Immersion Course on top of the Quest fee:

• 1 week Spanish Language Immersion Course: $100
• 2 week Spanish Language Immersion Course: $200
