Costa Rica Environmental Group Quest

This is a terrific opportunity for high school students to work on an important environmental project related to Eco-tourism while experiencing first-hand the culture and beauty of Costa Rica! This group will be led by one of United Planet's experienced Group Leaders.

Dates: Sunday July 27th – Sunday August 10th, 2008 (2 weeks)

Work: Volunteers will work with the rural community of Cañitas de Monteverde. Cañitas is a small community of around 25 houses situated in a well-known part of Costa Rica called Monteverde, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. In the community and surrounds of Cañitas, volunteers will work on environmental projects. There is also the possibility of contributing to the social well-being of the village in a practical way; past groups in Cañitas have helped build a sidewalk for the local school.

Activities: There are many exciting cultural activities planned including dance classes, soccer games, a visit to a coffee processing plant and a cultural show.
