Chile Law Group Quest |

This is a terrific opportunity for law students and lawyers to share their knowledge and skills with law students in Santiago, Chile while learning about the unique political and legal nuances of that country. Dates: Aug 5 – 14th, 2007 (10 days) Volunteers will leave the U.S or Canada in the evening on Aug 4th and arrive in Chile on Aug 5th in the morning. Volunteers should plan to leave Chile on the evening of Aug 14th, arriving home on the morning of Aug 15th. Work: Volunteers will tutor law students in Legal English as well as make presentations about the American Legal System and NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement. Activities: Volunteers will take one Spanish class and one Chilean cooking class. In addition, a meeting with law school professors and practicing attorneys will be planned so that the group can learn more about Chilean law and politics. Excursions: The Group will visit several sites of interest in and around Santiago including:

Group Leader: Steve Kasher, Lawyer and Returned United Planet volunteer. Steve traveled to Peru with United Planet’s Photo Group Quest in the summer of 2006. He is an avid traveler and seeker of cultural knowledge! With the help of United Planet’s Chile Country Coordinator, Paul Fischer, Steve will guide the group through their Quest experience. United Planet reserves the right to cancel this Group Quest if a minimum number of participants do not register for it. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, those signed up for this Group Quest will be able to participate in an individual Quest. |
