UP gives me the opportunity to help and motivate people to experience and explore the joy of interacting with different cultures. It is amazing what one can learn and how one can relate to people with different backgrounds.

Doing volunteer work for United Planet makes me feel a part of people who care to help others in need around the world, regardless of their culture. We have it so well here in the US that sometimes we forget how awful some people live in other countries. Often times I find that most people I talk to would like to help the situation. The problem is they never get around to actually doing it because of their busy schedules. Like most people I also have a busy schedule, but I figured it would be time well spent, if I can give some of my precious time to an organization like United Planet.

United Planet enables people from around the world to connect and experience the joys and challenges of life in another country. I believe these life experiences are important for improving how we think and act towards others, ourselves and the world.

I applied to United Planet because I liked to work as a volunteer and the challenges at UP were so interesting.  I learned so much.

In an interconnected world, cross cultural understanding is key and for that I have joined United Planet's Advisory Council. UP's mission has no borders. United Planet not only educates and helps connect different communities; it also supports communities in need. At UP, I was inspired by my colleagues and the volunteers dedicated to service abroad. These people and the goals of United Planet continually refresh my passions for improving cross-cultural understanding and making the world a better place for everyone.

Coordinating travel, working with people from all over the world, and facilitating international friendships were the main reasons I worked at United Planet.  The vision of a growing, prosperous, and unified world is brought closer to reality each day at UP.

What I love about United Planet: its mission, a cosmpolitan atmosphere, working with people from all over the world, and a beautiful park in front of its office!

Living in China for over a year brought me countless life-changing experiences and a whole new perspective.  I advise anyone who is interested to just go ahead, take the plunge and spend time learning about a new culture.  As the long-term Quest coordinator here at United Planet, I hope to help others do just that.

One of my favorite UP memories was having an international team picnic during the summer.  It was a nice lunch time break for the team and we were able to sample dishes from all over the world.  My specialty is French cuisine since I am from Lille.
