What did you hope to gain from and achieve during your United Planet Quest?
To gain more valuable perspective globally and to improve and sharpen my Spanish skills, so I can incorporate Spanish into my career in the future.
Describe your volunteer work experience.
It was a very positive experience that will last me my lifetime.
I loved the orphanage where we worked. The kids were adorable, sweet and genuinely appreciated the help they were getting. It was so easy to jump right in to the project because we felt so welcomed by the house mom and children.
It was definitely an experience I'd like others to have.
What did you enjoy most about your Quest experience?
The Spanish instructor, host family, activities at the school, set up/leisure of the program...pretty much everything!
Tell us how you feel overall about your experience.
My experience in Cuzco will last me a lifetime. The children at the orphanage where we volunteered were so incredibly sweet, welcoming and genuinely appreciated the help.
I feel my aunt's and my Quest far exceeded what we imagined our experiences would be in that we were able to help so much more than we thought possible in just the short time we were there.
Due to the flexibility of the program, we were able to give so much more than we thought possible. It is great because the street children touched our lives as much as we were able to touch theirs.
