Default Those were the days

It's a shame this forum has gone asleep... used to be pretty lively some years ago!

I hope everyone is doing ok!

... and if someone should read this (unlikely but it's worth a try): drop a line for old time's sake okay?

I miss the days when this forum was lively. It was so much fun back then!

Smile Forum is going to come back!

Hi Kirby,

I miss it too. The forum was moving full steam ahead until someone hacked into it. This put us off track for a long time. As a non-profit, it was hard to get back on track after this incident, but... we have better technology now and we are looking at some really exciting additions to our online community. I can't reveal anything now, but please stayed tuned. In the meantime, please invite all your old forum friends back and let's reinvigorate the forum.

Please let me know if you want to help us with this again

All the best,

Dave

Smile hi ling

it's pretty easy to come back to the forum and bring it to live.

Just post (almost) everything what's on your mind and I'm sure you'll get some answers.

Default Of days long gone by.

Hullo Deco, and everyone!

It has truly been a long time, and I feel the same way, as it really isn't a good feeling to see how it went.

I think a lot of how come it was active back then though, was because of the more youthful energy of the brunt of the members, for back then, a lot of the people who posted a lot were well into their mid to late teens.

In a way, we just all kinda grew up, and grew apart, or for some grew more together.

These days, between working as a quasi-carpenter for a construction company, a line cook for a restaurant, and undergoing the process of immigration to the US, I don't think it'd be possible to find all the time I used to have for the forum, but I'd still enjoy being able to talk together with others about languages, for I still really enjoy learning them.

Namely, Arabic, Turkish, Danish, French, and Finnish, are ones, in that order, I would love to learn more about, but kinda strayed away from once I started working.

Anyways, I'll quit blabbing now.

Dave, I think another reason it's not as busy, is because this forum code is not as user-friendly or accessible as phpBB was. I really still feel like we should've kept with phpBB, and just used some mods to make it even better.

There's no visible avatars in this one, which makes it feel cold, not too many smiles, again takes away the warmth or humanity, and so forth. The search system is also a tad annoying to navigate.

All I find funny, for I've used forums with this code on other sites before, and it wasn't half-as-annoying, so maybe this just needs to be fixed is all.

I'll end it here, before I write a story for everyone, again.
