Hi,
I'm from Germany an we celebrate Christmas the following way. On Christmas eve, which is Dec. 24th not Dec. 25th like in other countries, we have a 'normal' day so far. The parents do a bit of preperations. Most of the German just have a simple meal at lunch on this day, like a chicken soup with noodles. Of cours homemade by mom & dad, not from a can. In the afternoon around 5.00 p.m. we're having the Bescherung - which basically means present time ![]() We light the candels on the wooden pyramid, listen to christmas music, eat christmas cake (Stollen) and just hang out with the closest family. December 25th and 26th are the days when you visit the rest of your family. Because of the fact, that most of the german families live very close together you don't have to travel a lot during this days. It's not that you have to go on a airplane to see your grand parents. I guess the main thing which every country has in common is eating eating eating during christmas... and sleeping ![]() Can somebody else tell us a bit about there Christmas traditions? |

Hi everyone!
If you want to know how Turkish people celebrate Christmas, you can go to this article from the UP Blog : http://www.unitedplanet.org/blog/2009/01/23/holidays-in-turkey/ It is interesting to know how they celebrate Christmas in a Muslim country!
