Ecuador Environmental Quests
United Planet is working closely with several projects in the Cloud Forest of Nanegal, located just two hours north of Quito. Volunteers plant seeds and organic coffee, identify flora and fauna, and assist in environmental education and outreach in the local community. Volunteers may also work on a recycling initiative in Quito. |
Conservation and Environmental Education in the Cloud Forest Duration: Minimum 10 days but preferably 2 weeks Requirements: Basic to Intermediate Spanish
Volunteers live in dorm-like housing and take meals in the cafeteria. On days off, volunteers can travel to Mindo to explore its butterfly farms, or partake in outdoor activities such as tubing, at additional cost. Please note that Spanish classes are not offered at this environmental project.
