This is a warm-hearted couple from the U.S. who just finished a volunteering tour in Chile. They enjoyed home stays, mining tours, sharing with students, and so much more. We love our volunteers!

So many of our volunteers who travel to Chile come back and rave about their experience; we thought we should let you see how much United Planet’s Chilean Country Coordinator, Paul, raves about the volunteers.

The University of Idaho recently sent a group of 13 students and two professors to build houses in Chile. The decision was a response to Chile’s devastating 8.8 earthquake in February 2010, the fifth strongest in recorded history, which had left thousands of Chileans homeless.

Laurie Lundeen, a middle school Spanish teacher from Indianapolis, IN, traveled to Santiago and Valparaiso, Chile in May and June of 2010. She returned to Santiago this winter to visit and reconnect with the place she fell in love with, as well as the many people who touched her heart during her original trip with United Planet.
