Ghana, located on the western coast of Africa, has been a popular destination for many of our volunteers in the past. We have both long-term and short term programs that go to Ghana, so the quests range from 2 weeks to 1 year! We are now offering two new quests in Ghana, an Orphanage quest and a Community Education NGO quest! With the two new quests, we now have six different projects in Ghana.
The Orphanage quest is located in the south of Ghana in the Volta Region. While working in the orphanage, volunteers will care for the children, help them with their English, organize games and crafts and assist them with their homework. This project gives volunteers the opportunity to help out kids who are less fortunate and might not get the love and attention otherwise.

The second project we added is the Community Education NGO quest. This is a wildlife quest where volunteers work in the Mole National Park and Paga Crocodile Pond. Mole National Park is Ghana’s largest national park at the heart of the Guinea Savannah Woodland ecosystem. There are over 93 species of mammals, more than 344 species of birds and about 33 species of reptiles. The Paga Crocodile Pond is in the upper region of Ghana and has some of the largest crocodiles in the world. This is one of the only places in the world where you are permitted to sit with, and even touch, some of the largest reptiles in the world! Don’t miss this opportunity!

A good initiative. The communities will benefit form these programmes, even on short-term basis. The health and education sectors both need such doses of refreshing initiative, and rapidly. Any avenue to contribute to such a venture is welcoming indeed!
